Camping Des Familles is located on a strip of land between the mouth of the Gironde and the Atlantic, just above Bordeaux in the Médoc. An area with vineyards, woods, dunes and above all plenty of water. The ocean of course but also large lakes (Carcans, Lacanau, Biscarosse, Parentis) and the River Gironde which is very wide here. The beautiful bay of Arcachon is just to the south.

If you are looking for a family camp site with an authentic French ambiance, close to the sea, Des Familles is the place for you! It's just 4 km from the beautiful sandy beach on France's west coast,
along a road through the woods. Also nice to do by bike. There is a small, friendly restaurant right by the sea so you don't have to go straight home after a day on the beach. Back 'home' on the camp site there is a safe, fenced in swimming pool with a paddling pool for the youngest, a sun terrace and several deckchairs. There is a basic restaurant with a terrace and views of the jeu de boules green. And the children will always make holiday friends at the lovely playground and by the table tennis.

Local Area

For trips out take the ferry to the old town of Royan on the other side of the Gironde and visit La Palmyre Zoo. Or visit one of the many chateaux of the Médoc! There are several theme parks in Arcachon as well as Europe's highest dune! You can pamper yourself in the Thalazur spa in Châtelaillon-Plage (Turkish baths, massages, swimming pool, jacuzzi and much, much more).

 

Static caravans are fully fitted and offer the most comfortable and luxurious way to camp. Everything is provided!
The interior is typically as follows: Living room with entrance and a dining/sitting area (which can usually be adapted into an additional double bed), Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with two single beds.
Bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet (sometimes a separate toilet). Fitted kitchen with a 2 to 4 ring gas hob and fridge. Plenty of storage space for personal possessions. Terrace and/or private garden with garden furniture.
